_________________________________________________________________ Student exchange and visiting scholar appointments are major components of the CCL-EDM collaboration.  In 2009, CCL graduate student Naomi Klinghoffer spent 6 months at EDM developing gasification techniques to produce chars with catalytic properties.  She then visited EDM two more times to continue the work and begin to train another student, Marion Ducousso of EDM, who will continue the char work.  Marion will spend six months at the CCL in 2013 to conduct flow reactor work and understand the kinetic performance of char for different catalytic reactions.  In 2011, Assistant Professor Elsa Hortala-Weiss spent one month at the CCL conducting some in-situ TGA/GC reaction work on hydroxyapetite (HAP) modified surfaces.  In summer of 2013, Professor Castaldi will occupy the first visiting scholar chair at EDM.
